Privacy Policy for PaperPixel

**Last updated: 07/23/2026

PaperPixel (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is developed by Aximonode Labs. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app.

The short version

PaperPixel processes your documents entirely on your device. We do not operate any server, we do not collect your documents, and we do not have accounts, logins, or analytics tracking. Scanning, text recognition, editing, and PDF creation all happen locally on your phone.

What the app accesses, and why

Camera — used to scan documents and capture ID cards. Photos are processed on your device only and are never uploaded anywhere by us.

Biometric authentication (fingerprint/face) and a Vault passcode — used only to unlock the app’s optional Vault feature, which you can use to store sensitive documents (like ID cards or financial statements) behind an additional lock. Vaulted documents are encrypted on your device using AES-256 encryption. We do not have access to your biometric data itself — that is handled by your device’s own operating system and is never shared with us.

Storage — the app saves the PDFs, images, and text files you create directly to your device’s app storage, so that your scans persist between sessions. This data stays on your device unless you choose to share or export it yourself (for example, using the Share button to send a file via another app of your choosing).

Text recognition (OCR)

PaperPixel uses Google’s ML Kit Text Recognition to extract text from your scans, for search and export purposes. This processing happens entirely on-device, via Google Play Services already installed on your phone — no image or extracted text is sent to Google or to us over the internet as part of this feature.

Third-party services

PaperPixel does not currently include advertising, analytics, or any cloud sync/backup feature. If this changes in a future update, this policy will be updated accordingly before that update is released, and the update will be reflected in the app’s changelog.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or have any access to: the content of your scanned documents, your extracted OCR text, your Vault passcode, your biometric data, or any personally identifiable information. There is no user account, login, or registration in this app.

Data deletion

Since everything is stored locally on your device, you are always in full control. Deleting a document within the app permanently removes it. Uninstalling the app removes all associated data from your device.

Children’s privacy

PaperPixel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children, consistent with the fact that we do not collect information from any user.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date, and significant changes will be noted in the app’s Play Store update notes.
